Asus Eee PC 1201N - [Asus product page]The 1201N is only the second netbook after the AsRock Multibook G22 to ship with a dual core Atom N330 cpu and a ION chipset. Combined with dual channel memory architecture (2 DIMMs) this is likely the most powerful netbook available. The remaining specs look very good too: 12.1" LED-backlit LCD screen (1366x768), 2-3GB DDR2-DRAM, Wireless b/g/n, Bluetooth, 250 or 320GB hard disk, webcam, stereo speakers and audio in/out jacks, 3x USB 2.0 ports, VGA and HDMI monitor ports, a SD card reader, RJ45 network port, a 6-Cell 63Wh Li-ion Battery and Windows 7 (sadly no Linux version). HP Mini 311 (sold as Compaq Mini 311c in some countries)With a near full size keyboard and a 11.6" LCD screen (1366 x 768, LED backlit), this is a rather large and impressive Netbook. It's powered by a single core Atom (N270 or N280), a Nvidia ION LE IGP, can fit 1-3GB of RAM and has built-in Altec Lansing stereo speakers for good sound. With it's hdmi out port it could be used as a mobile HTPC too. It also has an in-built 5-in-1 card reader, a choice of a 160GB or 250GB or 320GB hard disk, a Web-cam, 3 USB Ports, RJ-45, VGA, wireless and a 6 Cell Lithium Ion battery pack. Samsung N510Here is Samsung's offering in the growing Atom+ION netbook market: the N510 offers a 11.6" screen (1366 x 768), a HDMI port, a single core Atom cpu, a Nvidia ION LE IGP, 1-2GB RAM, a 160 or 250GB hard disk, webcam, 10/100 Mbit LAN, wireless b/g/n, Bluetooth, a 3-in-1 Card Slot, 3 USB ports, audio in/out packaged in a pleasant and robust looking casing. It also includes a 6-cell, 5900mAh battery, but appears to be available only with Windows pre-installed, sadly no Linux version. Lenovo IdeaPad S12The Lenovo IdeaPad S12 Netbook is available now also with a Nvidia ION IGP, searching for the ION version is not easy though, as Lenovo sells slower Intel GMA950 and even Via Chrome9 IGP versions under the same name, too. The Ion versions have the model numbers 29595DU, 29595EU, 29595FU (2GB RAM / 250GB HDD) and 295954U (3GB RAM / 320GB HDD). The ION versions come with a single core Atom N270, 2-3GB RAM, a 250 or 320GB hard disk, a 12.1" LCD screen (LED backlit, 1280x800), b/g wireless, Bluetooth, a webcam, a 6 Cell Lithium-Ion battery pack and Windows 7 as standard (again no Linux version). Point of View Mobii ION mini NetbookThe POV Mobii ION mini Netbook combines an Atom 230 cpu with an ION GPU, a 10" LCD screen (LED backlit, 1024x600), a HDMI port, 1GB DDR2 RAM, 160GB hard disk, a SD card reader, Wireless b/g, a GigE port, a 1.3MP webcam, two USB ports, audio in/out and optional Bluetooth. It includes a 6-cell, 4400mAh battery which gives it a runtime of up to 4 hours. The Mobii is available in 4 colors and comes with Linux or Windows pre-installed as standard. Asus EeeTop PC ET2002(T)This is one of the first all-in-ones available that uses a Nvidia ION chip. The stylish looking unit combines a 20" touch (ET2002T) or non-touch (ET2002) widescreen LCD with a Atom+ION PC, 2x 3W speakers, a webcam, a DVD burner and a card reader. It could make a good secondary HTPC front-end for the bedroom, kids-room or kitchen.
